From December 10 to 12, 2003, Cisco Systems hosted members of the media from five countries at the Cisco Technology Leadership – Asia Press Symposium. The event was held at Andaman-Langkawi and a total of 24 tech and business press from Malaysia, Singapore, India, Indonesia and Thailand participated in the symposium. Cisco speakers presented an update on Cisco in Asia as well as examples of how much the networking industry has evolved amidst the challenging year. Topics covered included Security, Metro Ethernet, Advanced Technologies, Converged Networks, Storage and Optical Technologies. Bill Chang, Regional Managing Director, South Asia, also gave a notable presentation on “This is the Power of the Network. Now.” Aside from corporate and technology updates, the members of the media had the opportunity to enjoy the splendor of Langkawi island. Shopping at Kuah town and cable car ride were some of the many activities organized for the press. At the end of the event, the press went back with exclusive corporate updates and technology development news and not to forget, plenty of duty free goodies!
