As part of its ongoing expansion into Asia, MapInfo Corporation, the leading provider of location-intelligence solutions, signed an exclusive international distributor agreement with Map Information Solutions Sdn Bhd, a Malaysian provider of geographic information systems (GIS) solutions on 15 October 2003. Under this agreement, Map Information will offer customised and packaged MapInfo solutions to the territory of Malaysia. MapInfo and Map Information also signed a data supply agreement, whereby Map Information will supply MapInfo with Malaysian data to assist in the development of a street and address database for customers throughout Asia. The data agreement will enable MapInfo to develop a consistently packaged and licensed Pan-Asian dataset that comprises data from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, India, Philippines, Vietnam and Indonesia.
