POWER TO THE WOMEN!
Yasmin Ladies Night – Celebrating Womanhood

Ladies in the Klang Valley celebrated womanhood at the Yasmin Ladies Night party held at Mystique – Restaurant, Bar, Lounge at Cineleisure Damansara recently. Organized by celebrity talk show host couple, Christien and Lavin, the night’s theme on “Empowering Women” was clearly present in the sizzling performances by the sexy Stilettos and a short chat with celebrities Lavin Seow, Azah Yazmin and Professor Jamiyah bte Hassan.

“The concept behind our theme – “Empowering Women” – is simple. Women today are educated. We want to have a career. We want to achieve our aspirations. We want to make use of our talents and skills to contribute to society. We are better able to make informed decisions with regards to our future. One vital area touches on matters relating to family planning,” states Lavin Seow.

Professor Jamiyah then took to the stage to give an informal talk on the importance of family planning and methods of contraception, in particular the new generation oral contraceptive Pill that contains drospirenone.

“If you wish to start a family, think firstly of the timing. It is important for a woman to determine when she wants to start having children, the age gap, as well as how many children she wants to have. Family planning essentially involves the use of contraception. It enables a couple to plan for children when they ready. This is important especially given that it is common for both husband and wife to hold full-time jobs, and an unplanned pregnancy can be upsetting – both emotionally in terms of their life’s plans,” states consultant obstetrician and gynecologist,  Professor Jamiyah bte Hassan.

Touching on the newest generation of the Pill which now offers added benefits beyond contraception, Professor Jamiyah added, “The new generation Pill has added benefits. Yasmin, for example, which is one of the most popular choices of women today, is formulated to offer women beautiful skin, prevent water-retention related weight gain, and reduce premenstrual syndrome.”
