Y.B. Dato’ Ir Donald Lim, Deputy Minister of Tourism Malaysia today officially launched the country’s first Tourist Privilege Card, an initiative by Suria KLCC, Malaysia's premier shopping center in support of Visit Malaysia 2007 and in conjunction with the celebration of Malaysia’s 50 glorious years of independence.  The event saw Y.B. Dato’ Ir Donald Lim unveiling the contents of a giant wallet to extract the much coveted Tourist Privilege Card.

The Tourist Privilege Card is a card, which entitles tourists to amazing discounts and exclusive offers when they shop at more than 140 outlets at Suria KLCC.  The Tourist Privilege Card is extended to all tourists visiting Malaysia only and application is free-of-charge.  Application procedure is simple and all that is required for the tourists is to approach the Suria KLCC Customer Service Deck and present their ID or Passport.  The card will be issued on the spot and the privileges will take effect immediately.

According to Andrew Brien, Chief Executive Officer, Suria KLCC Sdn Bhd, the Centre Management is very excited to play a part in promoting the longevity of the country’s rich culture as well as to play a complementary role in establishing Malaysia as the shopping destination and more than just the preferred destination for business Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions (MICE).

“Suria KLCC is the focal point of thousands of shoppers daily. Being in the vicinity of the Kuala Lumpur City Centre, Suria KLCC receives many tourists either on holiday or for business trips.  Thus, together with our retailers, we are proud to offer new incentives for these tourists when shopping at Suria KLCC and I am certain this will play a meaningful part of their travel experience,” said Mr. Brien.
