Soulmakers for Montblanc 100 Years

Montblanc will proudly host the largest event ever staged by a luxury goods company in China. The location of this event will be the Shanghai Film Park – the first time the studio has been employed in such a way.

The scale of this event is truly immense. In fact, it is so large that two international production companies have been retained to bring about Montblanc’s vision. The film set is so complex that construction commenced ten days prior to the event, with over 700 craftsmen working round the clock to build the elaborate backdrops. Planning for the event has spanned six months.

The theme is Switzerland, where the Mont Blanc mountain is located and our famous watches are manufactured. Spectacular snow and ice scenes characterizing Switzerland will be presented, conjuring the storybook landscape of this beautiful Alpine wonderland.

A hundred top stars, such Chow Yun-Fat, Chen Kaige and wife Chen Hong will join Tony Leung Ka-Fai, Michelle Yeoh, Leon Lai Ming, Leo Ku Gui-Gei, and Michelle Reis (Lee Ka-Yan) at this historic celebration. Coco Lee and Se7en will be ushered into the main venue along a cinematic recreation of Old Shanghai’s Nanjing Road, adorned with replicas of an early Montblanc shop and Montblanc cinema. Vintage trams will come and go and neon lights will glitter, as costume-clad vendors move about the venue and a traditional Lion Dance swirls into action. Over 250 movie extras will turn this facsimile of Old Nanjing Road into a veritable bustling city.

There will be over 400 dedicated staff serving food and beverages, which have been specially prepared to reflect the Swiss theme. A fleet of over 80 buses and 200 cars will shuttle guests from downtown to the park, an armada of epic proportions. Over 400 members of the media from across Asia will be in attendance.

Indeed, the show is bound to mesmerize. Performers from Las Vegas, Nevada are being flown in, including Olympic ice skaters, and a diva from England will arrive to give a special performance related to the cultural significance of the Montblanc brand. A team of 12 international dancers will perform as well.

As if that weren’t enough excitement for one night, a group of ice sculptors will arrive from Sweden to carve a special Montblanc product created for this centennial year. A command performance by one of the hottest Korean pop stars will keep the party moving. Holland’s most DJ will spin dance music into the wee hours. Finally, there will be 12 popular interactive entertainers moving about our guests and displaying their wonderful talents.
