Cisco and partners
Contribute to the Montfort Boys Town’s Girls Centre
The Cisco Youth Project enhances volunteering and mentoring youths
Cisco
Systems today presented the Montfort Boys Town (MBT) with a cheque
worth RM 51,000. The final sum announced was raised through the Cisco
Youth Project (CYo:P) fundraising effort held over the past month.
“Cisco is pleased with the outcome of our initial fundraising efforts.
The unique aspect of the Cisco ‘Adventure Day’ is that Cisco is able to
contribute all the funds we collected to the MBT. This is a true
charity effort as everyone involved in the CYo:P, from our suppliers to
industry partners have played a part in making this possible. Their
support in terms of monetary contribution, services and premiums for
the Adventure Day event has made the event a success,” said Johnson
Khoo, Managing Director of Cisco Systems Malaysia Sdn. Bhd.
The eight industry partners who contributed to the Cisco Adventure Day
were APEX Communications Sdn. Bhd., Business Information Technology
(Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, Computer Systems Associates (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd,
Datacraft (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, DDS Engineering Sdn Bhd, Getronics
Solutions (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, Ingram Micro Malaysia and Mesiniaga
Berhad. Among the suppliers who contributed were Mayflower Acme Tours
Sdn Bhd and K C Visuals who contributed the t-shirts and caps at the
event.
Brother Robin Devasagayam, Director of the Monfort Boys Town, “Cisco’s
effort in conjunction with their eight industry partners is
commendable. Mentoring our youth through sports and outdoors activities
such as the Cisco Adventure Day is effective as it encourages us to
spend time with our youth, a contribution that is harder to come by
than money. Their tremendous contribution of time, effort and money
will enable the MBT to make more headway in our plans to build a girls
wing at the school premises. MBT hopes to continue in our objective
cater as many underprivileged youths who have the determination to
learn.”
