The Mane Scholarship Programme: Raising Hair Expert For The Future

Wella today announced its collaboration with 14 top Malaysian hairdressing academies to provide hairdressing scholarship courses for 14 deserving individuals.  The Scholarship, worth RM96,616.00 in total are fully sponsored by Wella and the fourteen participating hairdressing academies namely, D’World Hair & Beauty Academy Sdn Bhd, Kimarie Hair Academy Sdn Bhd, Snips Salon Sdn Bhd, Thomas and Guys, La Mode Coiffure, T & T Professional Salon & Academy, A Cut Above Academy and Face On Hair Professional Sdn Bhd from Kuala Lumpur; Baptain from Penang; CHK, Des Hair Creative School & Salon and The Hairdresser & Barber from Ipoh; HDC and Fantasy from Johor Bahru.  

According to Lui Wai Ling, Salon Division Manager, Wella Malaysia Sdn Bhd, this is the second year Wella is organizing this scholarship program.  

“We received tremendous support from our counterparts in the hairdressing industry and that is why this year, we have decided to make this a bigger program and open it to the Malaysian public,” said Lui.

Wella and the participating academies believe that there are tremendous career paths within the hairdressing profession as Malaysia is now primed for growth in the artistic and aesthetic industry as it moves from a developing to a developed nation.  Thus through this scholarship program, they hope to groom and cultivate a group of young and talented individuals who will contribute positively to the hairdressing industry.
